Who is this course for?
Professionals working in information security who want to obtain their CISSP certification. These are mainly security officers, security managers, security consultants, network and system administrators and IT architects with five or more years’ work experience in cyber security.
When participants want to be CISSP certified, they must have a minimum of five years’ work experience in cyber security (in at least two domains of the CISSCP Common Body of Knowledge, see content under course topics). With fewer years’ experience, participants can become CISSP associates and gain the other necessary years of work experience within 6 years.
Why should you take this course?
Security is playing an ever greater role in organisations and as a developer, you have an important role in assuring quality and security in your development process and code base. As a developer, you may already know some principles around secure development, or you may already have completed a security awareness session for developers. And now you want to know more about how hackers go to work and you want to get down to security testing yourself within your organisation.
Once the course is over, participants will be familiar with the complete CISSP Body of Knowledge (CBK) and have learnt the necessary material to have passed the CISSP exam.
By following a CISSP bootcamp, participants increase their chance of passing the CISSP exam. A CISSP title sets you apart in the cyber security domain and enables you to make a further step forward in your professionalisation.
During the course, the eight domains of CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) are discussed:
- Security & Risk Management (Security, Risk, Compliance, Law, Regulations, Business Continuity)
- Asset Security (Protecting Security of Assets)
- Security Engineering (Engineering and Management of Security)
- Communications & Network Security (Designing & Protecting Network Security)
- Identity & Access Management (Controlling Access & Managing Identity)
- Security Assessment & Testing (Designing, Performing & Analysing Security Testing)
- Security Operations (Foundational Concepts, Investigations, Incident Management, Disaster Recovery)
- Software Development Security (Understanding, Applying & Enforcing Software Security)
After completing this course, participants can apply for the CISSP exam themselves at Pearson Vue. The exam can be taken all year round.
