Business Unit Director Cyber security Governance

We are looking for a Senior director to lead and grow our Governance business unit (BU). Consultants from that Business Unit support our customers’ executive team in domains such as but not limited to cyber risk assessments, cyber security strategy and roadmaps, security maturity assessments and overall CISO services.

What do we do?

We provide midsize companies to large enterprises with hands-on cyber security solutions, performance assessment and monitoring, incident response services, cyber risk assessment and expertise, and overall cyber security related governance services.

Our Governance Business Unit is a challenger of the “big-four”, but we like to differentiate ourselves by focusing on expertise, relevance, rapidity, and quality. We don’t like bureaucracy and endless (online) meetings, but rather help our customers with concrete and actionable plans to control and remediate cyber risks.

What can you expect from the job?

As Director of the Governance Business Unit your main goal will be the overall success and growth of the unit. Therefore, you will be responsible for P&L, as well as bringing structure, processes, knowledge, commercial ideas, and staff the consultant team.

The team of the Governance Business Unit is composed of consultants that deliver support and expertise to the management team of our customers and help them build and execute strategic cyber security growth plans. Therefore, it is important for you to be able to manage and train consultants but also to be able to deliver such expertise yourself by translating cyber risks and cyber security to business terms and goals for our customers.

Ideally, you have experience in conceiving or improving services to better answer customer demand and promote those. You will therefore collaborate with other departments, such as but not limited to sales, marketing, and products, as well as the management team.

As Director you will have ownership and responsibility for the Business Unit’s P&L and therefore need to be comfortable in making forecasts as well as growth plans. Being visionary and having leadership skills to bring the services and team to the next level is important to be successful in this role.

What kind of skills can we expect from you?

For this position we are looking for the following background, knowledge, and skills:

      • Hold a Master degree in a relevant field or have a proven track record in the industry
      • Significant experience working within cyber security, strategy, and risk management disciplines
      • Able to manage P&L and effectively collaborate with a wide range of technical, administrative and sales staff
      • Have 5 years or more of experience in managing teams of consultants
      • Inclination for customer service, a strong sense of initiative, a positive attitude, and a collaborative working style
      • Possess know-how and skills to deliver consultancy to strategic customers
      • Certification(s) in line with CISSM, CISSP, CRISC, CISM, ISO 27001LI or 27001CA are desirable
      • Experienced working with industry-recognized security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, CIS
      • Being resourceful to overcome growth obstacles and keep focus on strategy
      • Experience in development and implementation of cyber security and risk management programs
      • Experience managing work performed by partners or contracts, including negotiating budgets and deadlines
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to influence and communicate professionally to different types of stakeholders
      • Have perfect English speaking and writing skills (Dutch is a plus)
